Reflection:
We're going on a bear hunt. We're going to catch a big one. What a beautiful day. We're not scared. Those sentences are constantly showing up again and again in order to make children remember those sentences. So, children can not only learn more quickly but also can attract their attention. When the family go through the long wavy grass, they make the Swishy Swashy sounds. When the family go through the deep cold river, they make the Splash Splosh sounds. When the family go through the thick oozy mud, they make the Squelch Squerch sounds. When the family go through a big dark forest, they make the Stumble Trip sounds. When the family go through a swirling whirling snowstorm, they make the Hoooo Woooo sounds. When the family go through a narrow gloomy cave, they make the Tiptoe sounds. Those sounds gradually attract more and more children's attention. When the family become closer and closer to the bear, the climax shows up. Their is a bear with one shiny wet nose, two big furry ears and two big goggly eyes. Then, the family back through the cave, back through the snowstorm, back through the forest, back through the mud, back through the river and back through the grass. The author writes those sentences in just two pages in order to make the nervous environment and the quick speeds. In the end, the family finally back to their home. They open the door, shut the door, and into bed. They say " We're not going on a bear hunt again". After reading this story, I think that this story is a very worth for children to read. This story gradually attract more and more attention by using their sentences and pictures. When I read this story, I feel that I was one of the family member in this story. I can feel that I go through the cave, the snowstorm, the forest, the mud, the river and the grass. When the bear shows up, I completely feel the intensive environment. This books use some skills to grab the reader's attention. First, this book use the same sentences to make readers can read by the teller. Second, this book use many sounds like Swishy Swashy and Squelch Squerch.
